Why a multi-day wedding works in this city

Istanbul is a manageable flight from India, from the Gulf and from most of the UK and Europe, so a guest list that is spread across three continents can actually assemble. It also has enough hotel capacity in one district to hold a block of several hundred people without splitting the party across the city.

The second reason is quieter. Between functions your guests are in a city they want to be in, which solves the problem every multi-day wedding has: what several hundred people do with the hours you did not plan.

The parts that decide whether it works

A multi-day wedding fails in logistics long before it fails in design. These are the points we settle first.

A venue that can hold a mandap, an entrance and a dance floor without the three fighting each other
Catering agreed with the kitchen in writing: vegetarian, Jain, halal or a mix, cooked properly rather than adapted
Sound limits and any restriction on fireworks checked before the venue is booked
A haldi or mehndi space that photographs as well as the reception does
Room blocks, transfers and a schedule your guests can actually read across four days
A run sheet the venue team will follow, written in the language they work in

Where each function fits

The functions do not all want the same room. A hotel with real kitchen capacity and rooms upstairs carries the days that need catering and turnaround. A palace, an old mansion or a Bosphorus yalı carries the evening you will frame. An outdoor space carries the haldi, where the light matters more than the ceiling.

A guest list this size is a logistics project with a wedding attached. Room blocks, airport transfers, a welcome dinner and clear printed timings for every function are all part of what we plan. How we host guests travelling in.

The civil ceremony

Whether you register the marriage in Türkiye or keep the legal step at home is your decision, and it changes what has to happen before the day. We keep an outline of the paperwork foreign couples deal with. The details change with your nationality, so confirm the final requirements with your own consulate and the marriage office that will register you.

Questions we get first

Can Istanbul venues handle a three or four day wedding?

Some can and most cannot, which is why the shortlist is built around the whole programme rather than around the reception. A venue that photographs beautifully for one evening can be the wrong answer for four days of functions.

What about vegetarian, Jain or halal catering?

It has to be agreed with the kitchen in writing before the venue is booked, not negotiated afterwards. A kitchen that can genuinely cook it is a filter on the venue list, not a detail to settle later.

Is a baraat possible in Istanbul?

It depends entirely on the venue, its access and its street. It is one of the first questions we ask on a site visit, because the answer removes venues from the list rather than being solved later.

Can you work with a mandap and our own priest?

Yes. The ceremony is yours; our part is making the space, the schedule and the venue team work around it, and putting the setup and breakdown on someone other than your family.

How many guests can we bring?

Tell us the number first and we build the venue list around it. Guest count is the single fact that changes the shortlist most, more than season or style.
